From my time visiting Destin before I moved to Pensacola Beach, I’ve found it to have that classic beach town vibe mixed with some seriously nice waterfront homes. Walking along the shore, I notice everything from charming elevated beach cottages to large modern Gulf-front houses with large decks and private docks that feel made for relaxing or entertaining. There are several beachfront condos, which offer a great option for someone wanting beautiful views and amenities without worrying much about upkeep. To me, Destin doesn’t feel overbuilt—it has a polished, lived-in feel in the neighborhoods along the water. Park your boat on your private dock, soak in those stunning emerald water views, enjoy the experience of Crab Island, and still have great restaurants and shops just down the road. That is the kind of relaxed, yet refined beach lifestyle one gets when in Destin.
